The architecture practice ofToshiko Moriplaces a strong emphasis on innovation and a sense of place that is evident in her decades-long career in projects both public and private, large and small. Born in Kobe, Japan, Mori studied design at theCooper Unionin New York and rose to become not only a distinguished architect but also a respected scholar. In 1995,Toshiko Moribecame the first female tenured professor ofHarvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where she previously chaired the architecture department. Connecting with her educational experience, her firm has designed exhibitions for various institutions such as theCooper Hewitt.
