Courtney Shearer Launches Kitchen and Bath Firm

室内设计师考特尼她arer has launched her new firm, The Designery. With more than a decade of experience working in kitchen and bath design, the practice is a natural next step. Before founding The Designery, Shearer served as director of design at Bell Cabinetry & Design.

“I knew it was time to take things to the next level,” Shearer tells AD PRO. “[Kitchens and bathrooms] are two spaces where form and function are more appreciated and necessary than ever. I believe in the power of helping clients navigate the process in a straightforward way that focuses on informed decisions, considered options, and accessible style.”

Sarah Knight Davis Joins Amy Parry Projects

Amy Parry Projects, a boutique art consultancy and curation firm based in Atlanta, has filled a new visual design director position with Sarah Knight Davis. Knight Davis is an artist, designer, and illustrator who moved to Atlanta in 2019, having obtained a degree from SCAD in fashion design and a graphic design certification from the Parsons School of Design. In her new role, she will oversee all of the firm’s visual output before production, providing leadership in computer-aided designs and renderings.

Construction is complete on phase two of the Thompson Street Flats community, led by Kairos Development, in downtown Alpharetta. Compass Development has joined as the sales and marketing partner for the neighborhood, and is offering three-bedroom homes on a single level. The residences were designed by Lew Oliver Design with features including 30-foot-wide living rooms, kitchens outfitted with Wolf appliances, and roomy front porches. A model home, styled by Design2Sell Staging’s Melissa Piccirillo, is now on display for prospective buyers.

Peacock Alley’s Hand Towels Support Mask-Making Initiative

Who says hygiene can’t be fun?Peacock Alley, which has an Atlanta location at ADAC, has launched a cheeky new hand towel. The towel is emblazoned in aqua thread with the words “Wash Your F--king Hands.” The proceeds from this American-made, 100% cotton towel support the company’s efforts to make protective masks for those on the front lines of the COVID-19pandemic.

ThoughCOVID-19is keeping everyone in their homes, Atlanta’s onlymuseumdedicated to design has stepped up to offer an ever-growing roster of online education offerings for adults. (Classes for children and teens launched in March.) Look for the online version of the current exhibition, “Learning from Nature: The Future of Design,” set to release soon.

Spalding Nix Launches Instagram Live Artist Talks

Gallerist Spalding Nix isn’t letting physical distancing directives stand in the way of spring programming. Instead of hosting an in-person event, he will host Instagram live chats with artists Laura Dargan and Marc Chatov at 11 a.m. on April 9 and 16, respectively.

Flux Projects Launches Six-Week Virtual Artists Initiative

Founded 10 years ago to support artists in the last recession, Flux Projects has launched a new virtual initiative. The arts organization is commissioning six local artists to create virtual projects for six weeks. One artist will release a project each Wednesday. The first project,Over the Bent World,is a short film by filmmakers Micah and Whitney Stansell. In addition, Flux Fun offers at-home art projects designed for younger fans.
