New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre Lists NYC Apartment, Moves to West Coast

The singer’s new home in Los Angeles was designed by Arthur R. Kelly, who also designed the Playboy Mansion

New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre and his wife, Barrett McIntyre, are swapping theirUpper West Sideapartment for a new home out on the West Coast.Varietyreports that the couple recently landed a historic 1930s home in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles for $5.6 million, and have put their current New York City condo on the market for $4.395 million.

The 6,300-square-foot Hancock Park dwelling was designed by renowned architect Arthur R. Kelly—he also designed the Playboy Mansion—and still retains much of its classic French Normandy–style aesthetic. It features an intricate wrought-iron railing on the winding staircase just off the front entrance hall, plus original fireplaces with carved stone mantels.

The property boasts a total of five bedrooms and six bathrooms, with four of the en suite bedrooms located in the main house and one in a separate guesthouse. The rooms all feature hardwood floors and crisp white walls with crown moldings—a library on the ground floor is the only exception, with pine-paneled walls and built-in bookshelves. A stunning conservatory room is an obvious focal point of the home, with glass cathedral ceilings and a wrought-iron chandelier hanging over the center of the room.

The master suite, situated in its own wing, features a fireplace, a sitting area, its own adjoining office, a marble bathroom, and a custom-fitted walk-in closet. The exterior of the home is stunning, with a dining terrace and outdoor lounge area that features a stone fireplace and a trellis overrun by picturesque grapevines.

The McIntyres are not entirely new to the Hancock Park neighborhood. Before making their move to the East Coast, the couple owned another traditional-style home in the area, this one designed by architect Paul Williams, which they sold just about two years ago for around $5.8 million.

McIntyre’s Upper West Side home, which he originally bought in late 2017 for $4.25 million, comprises three bedrooms and three bathrooms spread out across just under 2,700 square feet. The front entryway is notably decked out with a rather unusual, colorful wallpaper featuring baboons munching on leaves. The rest of the unit is a bit more understated, though the small home office is currently painted a dark teal color, as are the cabinets in the kitchen.
