You Can RentThe Royal TenenbaumsMansion for $20,000 a Month

The set of the iconic Wes Anderson film is located in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of Manhattan

It’s no secret that renowned filmmakerWes Andersonis known for his distinct aesthetic. His work is unlike any other, and as of now, one of the iconic set locations from his 2001 filmThe Royal Tenenbaums—which stars Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Luke Wilson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, and more—is up for rent.

According toMansion Global, the four-story townhouse totaling 6,000 square feet is running for $20,000 a month. Originally built in 1899, the property has a rich history and undeniable architectural character modeled after the Flemish Revival style.

When Anderson was scouting for places to shoot for his movie, this home instantly stood out. “It needed to be a New York house that wasn’t stereotypical, and where you’d have a real strong sense of family history,” Anderson previouslysaid toThe Observer. After all, the comedy-drama follows the unique story of three highly gifted siblings.

In keeping with the one-of-a-kind theme of the film, the home has two kitchens, over 50 windows, and an elevator—amenities not typical of the Big Apple. The longtime owners bought the house, located in West Harlem’s Hamilton Heights neighborhood, in 1999 for $460,000.
